((CG_ZINC_PLATING

Zinc is more corrosion resistant than bare iron or steel. However, zinc corrodes at a rate of 1/30 of that for steel

Zinc plating car parts provides additional layer of protection to nuts, bolts, screws etc... After the plating process adding the part to a sodium dichromate solution (Chromate) provides additonal protection against corrosion plus changes the colour. Example using Yellow Chromate gives the part not only an additional 200hrs of continuous salt spray but also gives it a a vintage look.

Our process is broken into 3 phases

  1. Prepare the part by cleaning and stripping off old plating.
  2. Using electrolysis plate the part
  3. Post plating add addtional corrosion protection which is an optional step.
